I want to introduce you to my kombucha mother, Samantha III. She has been with me for many years, faithfully turning sweetened beverages into tasty kombucha experiments. She’s a little small right now, but with every batch she nearly doubles in size! Samantha may not be renowned for her beauty, but we all appreciate her contributions. Recently, I made a strong ginger and turmeric kombucha that came out really tasty. My kombucha usually contains very little actual tea because I don’t like drinking much caffeine. This batch has a few bags of green tea + some herbal ginger turmeric tea bags boosted with lots of fresh grated ginger. In my years of making kombucha, I’ve discovered that almost anything works as long as it has sugar.
