Hi! My name is Erika A Thornton, owner of EAT Food Consulting.

I’ve been working in food product development for over 20 years. I am a expert in designing and manufacturing bar products of all types. I’ve also worked with a wide variety other foods types, particularly in the natural and organic industry.

Since childhood, I have had a love for experimenting and creating unique foods and testing them out on my family. In fact, I’m still doing that, only now, I’m the parent! I was also committed to becoming a scientist. During college at Virginia Tech, I was thrilled to discover that I could get a degree in Food Science, and bring my love for science and food together!

My career has given me the opportunity to work on all kinds of interesting food products and different types of companies. I’ve worked in manufacturing plants, for large CPG companies, startups and as a consultant, giving me a unique background and perspective.

Being an independent consultant gives me the chance to help others realize their dreams by sharing my knowledge and ideas with passionate people. It also challenges me in new and interesting ways. I love a good challenge!
